Following torrential overnight rain and with a poor forecast for the day, we took the decision to cancel our Flag competition at Paul Lawrie Golf Centre and instead took advantage of the TopTracer technology available within the covered range bays at PLGC.
We used the virtual golf simulation to play a 10 hole lay-out and the kids had 45 shots to get as far around as possible. It was interesting to see them using the technology to think about their strategy and factor in the wind direction and conditions. Everyone enjoyed it took part in a nearest the pin challenge at the end of their round. It’s not quite the same as being out on a proper golf course but it was a fun exercise and at least the kids were able to play (outside) without getting totally soaked, cold and miserable!!!
Marian arranged for hot chocolate to be delivered from Clarets coffee shop (upstairs at PLGC) so that went down very well with everyone involved.
